Join the Field of Dreams Movie Site for their 2nd Annual First Responders Appreciation Day fundraiser event Saturday, July 10. Show your appreciation for our First Responders through a day of fun, family and baseball! Enjoy a special performance by the legendary Ghost Players as they come out of the corn and perform their famous comedy routine and interact with the crowd. Be sure to grab your seat for 7-inning baseball games featuring baseball teams from the Chicago Police Department, Chicago Fire Department, Dallas Fire Department and New York Police Department. Then enjoy some country music with a performance by country music star Jake Dodds! The night will end the way it should with a showing of the Field of Dreams in the outfield under the lights. Gates open at noon and active and retired First Responders get in free by showing their badge or proof of ID. Proceeds go toward the Dubuque County Emergency Responders Training Facility and the Chicago Police Department Memorial Foundation. The Dubuque County Emergency Responder Training Facility enables firefighters, law enforcement officers, and EMS workers to train under real-life emergency situations while doing so in a safe and controlled environment. The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation provides support and assistance to the families of Chicago police officers who are killed or catastrophically injured in the line of duty.
